Devid Striesow

The versatile actor with the intense gaze

Devid Striesow (born 1973 on Rügen) is one of the most distinguished German actors. After studying at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst "Ernst Busch" Berlin, he was part of the remarkable graduating class of 1999 with Lars Eidinger, Uwe Fischer, Maria Simon, Nina Hoss, Mark Waschke and Fritzi Haberlandt. Immediately afterwards he began his theatre work at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg as well as the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, was awarded the Alfred Kerr Prize in 2004 and Best Young Actor in 2005. At the same time he appeared in television series, made his film debut in the feature film "Amerika" and has since developed a fascinating repertoire of roles. He is convincing with character studies in complex feature films ("Lichter", "Yella", "Drei", "Die Fälscher" and others) as well as in (crime) series and children's films.
